Hope and Despair in Beauty of Understanding

vine

by James D. Casey IV

there is yours
there is mine

fear
in the eyes of
seven turns

how can something
revolving
six-shooter dreams
be so
fucking cruel

an answer
a question

hope and despair
in beauty of
understanding

plans
promises
come
undone

whiskey in the water
dancing on the vine

slit throat
black sun
black sheep

end the song
with a broken
hand
