lament

lament

by Ceinwen E. Cariad Haydon

earth keens
in wind in waves
over-ground in dead trees
underground in fracked seams
earth keens

earth keens
in scorched soil
flooded plains tornados
hurricanes tsunamis ruined air
earth keens

earth keens
chokes on dead fish
in plastic seas oil slicks
melted ice floes sick oceans
earth keens

earth keens
in failed crops
forced migrations humans
animals flee from home-habitats
earth keens

earth keens
in blood-spilt wars
hungry children’s tears
tears tears tears tears tears years
earth keens

can we find a way to save
our earth our only home
