Unseen Rivers

Unseen Rivers

By Tyler Jones

Streams ran daily and they have
Increased from what I keep seeing lately.
Pure insanity.
I think I’m losing my humanity.
Repeated atrocities influenced by
Injustices to create animosity.
Close to snapping,
I can’t show that it’s getting to me.
Even though it is,
I’m tired of crying because life’s a bitch.
Hit after hit, I’m
Fuming and the steam won’t shift.
You would think I would leak
But my ocular pores run sore
From holding onto the water
Pouring repeatedly from my core.
Tides rise and the only thing I can do
With these feelings of mine I hide.
Afraid of how I’m perceived if I’m
Seen breaking my dam to give a damn.
I can’t.
Tears don’t get you anywhere.
I’m afraid
Rivers will only leave me swept away.
I sit here in silence,
Hoping the world leaves me a
Sliver of hope that I can
Find a piece of me and my
Feelings leave tears for me to cry
And I’ll have more to say.
